Healthy in the Summer Sun

Hello Friends,

The summer months bring not only lots of sunshine and heat, but also many fun activities. So, while you’re having fun in the sun, we at Right Focused have a few tips for staying healthy this summer.

– Stay Hydrated; A regular part of taking care of yourself is making sure you are taking in extra liquids when it’s hot. As we sweat, we lose liquids and it is easy to forget to hydrate. Staying hydrated not only supports a positive attitude, but studies show that drinking water can also positively impact our mental health by reducing the risks for depression and anxiety in adults…cheers!

– Take a Hike; Spending time outdoors is a great way to boost your mood and get your daily dose of vitamin D from the sun. This time outdoors promotes an elevated mood and improve cognitive function. Try going for a hike, walking around your neighborhood, or maybe doing yoga in the park… have fun!

– Limit Your Time in the Sun; While it is important to go outdoors and it can be tempting to stay outside all day long to enjoy this summer weather, taking a break every couple of hours will do the body good. Also, the sun is at its strongest between the hours of 10 A.M and 4 P.M, so keep in mind that Summer just started so as it begins we encourage you to enjoy yourself, take care of your emotional well-being, and think about the tips provided.

Also, this summer Right Focused has partnered with Shore Cultural Center to create a Therapeutic Garden Labyrinth in an effort to support and promote the mental & emotional well-being of all residents of the Euclid community. Please stop by anytime to relax in the newly designed space, and if you are interested in volunteering with us this summer to help with upcoming projects, email our team at support@rightfocused.com to receive more information and the volunteer sign up form.

Be Well!
