When living hurts

Sometimes, life is incredibly difficult.  I’m not talking about the normal ups and downs of everyday living that we all experience, but a loss of equilibrium that goes far deeper.  It is an unshakable feeling of sadness and despair with no apparent way out.  To make matters worse it’s not something we talk about or share, so you suffer in silence.

There’s a profound aloneness that comes with feeling lost and hopeless.  The negative thoughts can be relentless, and it takes great effort just to do the bare minimum and push through the day.  Then comes the night with more darkness and pain.  Why am I even here?

If this is you, please hear me.

Though it seems impossible and unbelievable right now, the feelings you are experiencing will not last forever.  It won’t always be this way.  There is life beyond the numbness.  Though I can’t paint your specific picture, I can tell you life will improve and you will have moments so worth living for.  You will find your inner strength, feel good again, have belly laughs, and see incredible beauty.  You can look forward to times when everything falls into place and life feels easy, even luxurious.  And, you will be proud of yourself for struggling and living through the worst.

Truth be told, we need you.  This world desperately needs those who can help others experiencing exactly what you are going through.  Be brave.  Don’t give up.  You can make some good come out of this struggle.  I believe in you.

Life is worth living even if you don’t feel it right now.
